Year 4 had a fantastic trip to Kingsplay Farm in Heddington, where they learned all about how farmers can look after the land and grow food in a way that helps protect our planet for the future.
From exploring food webs and ecosystems to investigating agroforestry, the children discovered how farming can help care for our planet. They even put their maths skills to the test – calculating how much carbon trees can store.
To finish the day, pupils got creative foraging for natural materials for paint and producing beautiful nature inspired artwork.
Miss Coombes, Year 4 Class Teacher said: “A huge thank you to the Tyler family for welcoming us to their family run farming business and providing such an educational and inspiring day on the farm for everyone. The children loved every minute of it.”
