Year 1 enjoyed an action-packed Hook Day as they transformed into everyday heroes. The children came dressed as fictional superheroes, historical knights and other inspiring characters, ready for a day of adventure.
We shared our individual superpowers and explored the special gadgets our heroes might use, discussing what they were useful for. Everyone created their own heroic motto or phrase, before painting large figures to showcase their colourful costumes and capes.
The children entered Hero Headquarters where they used walkie-talkies to communicate their exciting missions. We also enjoyed reading When I Grow Up I Want to Be… by Rod Biddulph, which celebrates children’s aspirations and highlights how important everyday roles and jobs are.
It was a fantastic day of creativity, confidence and fun, proving that everyone has their own special superpower!
