On Friday 26 June, we were delighted to welcome the whole St Margaret’s community to Calne for Prizegiving Day. Our beautiful marquee was full to bursting with pupils, parents, governors, teachers, staff and friends – a lovely way to celebrate and look back over the year together.
All pupils from every year group were celebrated for their achievements, including reaching the national finals of the LEGO League, alongside notable sporting and musical successes.
As part of the day, the school said goodbye (and au revoir!) to their Year 6 pupils as they prepare to leave at the end of term, each receiving individual Certificates of Commendation recognising and celebrating their unique strengths. There were a few tears in the audience as the year group sang ‘In the Big Blue World’ from Finding Nemo – part of their recent production.
A huge well done to Mabel, winner of the Calne Foundation Trust Cup 2025/26 presented by incoming Chair of Governors Cate Bell and sponsored by Lady Lansdowne. Mabel has been volunteering at St Peter’s Church in Marlborough, helping to run concerts and singing events that have raised an incredible £2,000 to support the church community. St Margaret’s is very proud of Mabel, and all the nominees for their kindness and hard work.
The morning also provided an opportunity to say a fond farewell to two teachers who have dedicated a combined 50+ years to St Margaret’s – Mrs Worsey and Miss Giles. We thank them sincerely for their commitment and unwavering dedication to the school.
Congratulations everyone involved – what a fantastic way to finish the school year!
