REGISTRATION
Thank you for you considering St Margaret’s for your child. Our Admissions team is here to guide you through the process and provide clear, practical support at every stage. Children joining Pre-prep or Prep normally start in September but, where there is space, children can join at other times. Children joining Nursery can start anytime throughout the year.

REGISTRATION
Registration
We warmly welcome children of all abilities to St Margaret’s, as long as we are confident we can support their educational, emotional and physical development.
Once we have received your registration form and fee, we will confirm safe receipt and reserve the space in the appropriate class. We operate a waiting list if all places are already filled for a specific year. Places are offered in order of registrations received.
For children joining from other schools, we will ask for a report from their current school. For children applying for a place in Prep (Year 3 upwards), we ask children to take a short assessment.
REGISTRATION
Taster Days
Taster Days are a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know your child informally to ensure they will flourish in our care.
Nursery: We offer a gentle settling-in session before their first day.
Reception: We review your child’s most recent learning journey and invite them to visit school.
Year 1: We look at each child’s recent learning journey and/or most recent school report, followed by two consecutive Taster Days.
Years 2 to 6: We look at each child’s recent learning journey and/or most recent school report, followed by two consecutive Taster Days including a Maths and English assessment.
REGISTRATION
Offer and acceptance
Following a successful Taster Day, our Admissions Team will formally offer a place and ask you to confirm your child’s place. This includes a £600 acceptance fee (includes VAT). This will be deducted from your child’s invoice at the end of Year 6, unless your child leaves earlier, in which case it is non-refundable. If you choose not to accept the place, it will be offered to the next child on our waiting list.
REGISTRATION
Confirmation of place
We will confirm your child’s place and agree a start date. We understand plans can change, but we cannot hold places indefinitely. Deferrals may be possible for up to one academic year. In the group is nearing capacity, a place can only be held for one term from the original start date.
If there is a waiting list, a non-refundable fee (50% of the annual fees) guarantees the deferred place is held for one term.
In the unlikely event that we are unable to offer your child a place after you have paid the acceptance fee, we will refund your acceptance fee in full.
