Payment by Direct Debit

Parents can pay fees in advance by Direct Debit either termly or monthly

Termly by Direct Debit – paid on the first day of each term

Monthly by Direct Debit – the termly fee will be divided by the number of months per term: Autumn term – four months, Spring Term – three months and Summer Term – three months.

No interest charge or discount is levied on Direct Debit payments but late payment continue to attract interest charged at the prevailing credit card rate.

Bursaries and discounts

The following options are offered to parents of children in Year 1 to Year 6. Families can choose one discount (ie either a HM Forces Discount or a sibling discount but not both):

Bursaries – Means-tested bursaries may be made available to parents or guardians of children entering any year group from Year 1 onwards. For more information, please refer to our Bursary Policy.

Sibling discount – A second child will be eligible for a 5% discount if they are in Year 1 or above, whilst there are two siblings enrolled at the same time. Any third or more children of the same family will be eligible for 15% discount whilst there are three or more siblings enrolled at the same time.

HM Forces Discount – HM Military families (where at least one parent/legal care is in the military) receive an automatic 10% discount on fees. For military families eligible for CEA (Continuing Education Allowance), we offer a discounted fee, which is CEA plus 10% of our boarding fee. Full boarding is available from Year 5 and Year 6 at St Margaret’s and in all years at St Mary’s Calne.

Notice of withdrawal

A term’s notice in writing, or payment of a term’s fees in lieu thereof, is required before a child is removed from the school. Notice must be given formally in writing to the Head of Prep School.

Similarly, a term’s notice is required before music or speech and drama lessons are discontinued. No reduction can be made for temporary absence through illness or any other cause, but an insurance scheme is available which provides rebate of fees in case of illness or absence due to quarantine. Fees are subject to variation.

Insurance

All pupils are covered by the Students’ Personal Accident Insurance Scheme, which is provided free of charge by the school.
