Our language clubs have started the new term with great enthusiasm.
In French, pupils have enjoyed colouring paper fish and sticking them onto each other’s back (as discreetly as possible) – just like children in France on April Fools’ Day. Pupils then moved on to practising the names of different sea creatures and learning about the tradition of the first of May and its lucky lily of the valley (le muguet).
Meanwhile, Spanish pupils have been working hard to prepare for the hot Spanish weather and are making excellent progress in learning a range of ice cream flavours. They are very much enjoying practising key phrases through short role‑plays including ordering different flavoured ice cream.
Mrs Madame Nathalie Colesby, MFL Teacher said: “It’s been a joy to see the children so excited as they learn new languages and traditions.”
